Character Grades

Overview

Train a character to its level cap, then break the limit to raise its grade and lift the cap. There are three grades: the level cap is 10 at grade 1, 20 at grade 2 and 30 at grade 3. The limit-break button is only enabled when the character is at its level cap and below the top grade.

How to try it

  1. Under Recruit a character, press Recruit next to Recruit knight (or another character) to get a character.
  2. On the character’s row under Train to the cap, then break it, press Train hard to add 1000 experience. After a few presses Level reaches 10/10 and stops.
  3. At the cap, Limit break becomes enabled. Press it: Grade changes to Grade 2 and the level cap rises to 20.
  4. Train up to 20/20 with Train hard again, then press Limit break for Grade 3 (cap 30).
  5. At Grade 3 and 30/30 there is no further grade, so Limit break stays disabled.

GS2 services used

  • GS2-Grade: GS2-Grade’s grade model defines the level cap per grade (10, 20, 30) and keeps each character’s grade. Raising the grade applies the new cap to GS2-Experience automatically.
  • GS2-Experience: GS2-Experience keeps each character’s experience, level and level cap. The level never passes the cap, which GS2-Grade raises.
  • GS2-Exchange: GS2-Exchange rate models define the buttons: Train hard adds 1000 experience (Gs2Experience:AddExperienceByUserId) and Limit break adds a grade (Gs2Grade:AddGradeByUserId), each run server-side as a free transaction.
  • GS2-Inventory: GS2-Inventory’s Character inventory holds the characters obtained by recruiting.
